Thomas College Sukeforth Family Sports Center - Waterville, Maine

Completed: 2022
General Contractor: Sheridan Construction

In 2022, Zimba Company Inc. was proud to contribute to the construction of the Thomas College Sukeforth Family Sports Center, a major addition to the Waterville campus designed to support student-athletes and the broader college community.

Working under Sheridan Construction, our team played a key role in building out both the interior and exterior wall systems that give the facility its structure and finished appearance.

Our Scope of Work

  • Metal stud framing

  • Insulation

  • Gypsum board installation

  • Taping and finishing

  • DensElement exterior sheathing

Building from the Ground Up

The project began with precision layout and metal stud framing across multiple levels of the facility. With high ceilings, open structural steel, and expansive athletic areas, careful coordination and accurate framing were critical.

Our team framed interior rooms and support spaces, working around exposed steel beams and overhead mechanical systems to ensure clean lines and proper alignment throughout the structure.

On the exterior, DensElement sheathing was installed to create a durable, moisture-resistant barrier system—an essential component for long-term building performance in Maine’s climate.

Interior Wall Systems & Finishing

As the structure progressed, our crews installed insulation and gypsum board throughout the facility. Taping and finishing brought the spaces from raw framing to smooth, paint-ready surfaces.

The Finished Result

Today, the Sukeforth Family Sports Center stands as a modern athletic hub for Thomas College. Seeing the completed interior spaces—bright, open, and built to last—is a reminder of the craftsmanship and coordination required at every stage of construction.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to work alongside Sheridan Construction on a project that will serve students and the community for years to come.
